Hillary Harvey has been photographing kids professionally for more than four years, and her pictures reflect her interest in documentary storytelling. On location at the party, Harvey interacts with the young guests, encouraging them to relax and let her tell their stories.

Harvey aims to get a photo of every party goer, as well as the birthday child and family. She uses a digital camera but will also shoot color and black and white film on request. Prices start at $250 and up in New York City and include the photo session and 100 photos as 4x6 images or on CD-rom. Other options include individual prints, framing, albums and photo thank you cards.
