Pin the Tail on the Donkey

Short Description:

Pin the Tail on the Donkey is common birthday party game played by a group of kids.

It would be interesting to know why this particular game gained so much popularity but nevertheless, it has remained a favorite in the US for many generations.

Long Description:

A picture of a donkey or another animal (missing its tail) is attached to a wall, low enough so that children can easily reach it. Each child takes turns and is blindfolded and handed a tail with a piece of removable tape attached. The child with the blindfold is then spun around in a circle a few times and then pointed toward the donkey. The kid with the tail in hand tries to imagine where the tail might go and then "pins", actually tapes, the tail there. The next child takes his/her turn. Finally, after each child's turn, the child whose tail is closest to the right spot wins.

Here are a few sources for the game complete with donkey, tails and blindfold.
