Kids' parties are often synonymous with sugar and junk-laden meals. But KidFresh, which creates convenience food that's high on nutrition, offers classes that will teach kids to cook and appreciate healthy, delicious, child-friendly eats.

Founded by chefs, dieticians and a pediatric nutritionist, the store sells fresh, organic, preservative and trans-fat free food. All foods are prepared fresh daily, and staff can provide gluten- dairy- and egg-free items upon request.

The 90 minute birthday parties at KidFresh consist of two options. The basic party includes the KidFresh party room, balloons, beverages and eats like Playtime Smiley Pizza, Turkey Cheese Kabob and Fun Cheese Shapes. The Theme Party Package with Activity includes the above, plus a cooking activity the kids can really sink their teeth into. Birthday cakes are available, too.

Prices start at $495 for on site parties and $300 for off site catering; all prices are for parties of 10 children. Up to 15 children (25 people total) can be accommodated at KidFresh.

Meals and snacks are tailored to age groups including Minis (1 to 2 year-olds) Juniors (3 to 5 year-olds) and Kids (6 to 10 year-olds). Foods are available as both full meals or in mix and match components. KidFresh also does offsite catering (for adults, too!)

Parties are held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
