Baseball with Zack Hample

Short Description:

For newcomers and established fans alike, attending a major league ball game with baseball writer Zack Hample is a great way to enjoy some of New York City's greatest attractions -- the Yankees and the Mets.

Long Description:

On outings to either Yankee or Shea Stadium, Zack Hample, author of Watching Baseball Smarter, instructs partygoers in the the ins and out of our national pastime.

During the game, which usually last about three hours, Hample teaches kids everything from strategy to strange rules and statistics. Add ons include batting practice ($250), which consists of a lesson on "snagging" baseballs, during which the birthday child will end up with at least one ball... and possibly many more.

The birthday child will also be featured in Hample's blog, The Baseball Collector.

Prices start at $500 for two people for a weekday game; games on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays cost an extra $100. There is a $50 surcharge for each additional guest, and party hosts are responsible for the cost of tickets, transportation, food and drink.

Hample recommends the baseball game and lesson for kids ages six and up but will also take younger children. There is no limit to the number of guests, but Hample prefers to have one adult for every two to three children.

Please book at least one week in advance.
