Battery Park City Parks Conservancy

Short Description:

This private, non profit organization is responsible for almost 36 acres of park in lower Manhattan.

Long Description:

For warm weather birthdays, Battery Park City Parks Conservancy has a number of parks that make great venues for kids' parties.
Parks with amenities for kids include West Thames Park (West Street between Albany and West Thames), Monsignor John J. Kowsky Plaza (East of Esplanade Plaza on the river), both of which have children's playgrounds, and Teardrop Park (between Water Street and Murray; East of River Terrace), which boasts a sand box, slide and water play.

The Battery Park City Authority also issues permits for the ball fields. Currently, permits are NOT being issued. Contact Derek Mitchell, the Ballfields Coordinator, at dmitchell@bpcparks.org for more information.

Parties of more than 20 require a permit; permit applications must be submitted at least three weeks in advance.

Permits for birthday parties start at $50. Please note that cooking/heating equipment is not allowed in the parks.
