Have a Party at Home

Want to save money on your next birthday party? To have a party at home for young children, you will should plan to limit the number of kids to how many will fit comfortably in your space with one or both of their parents. Even if you have a huge space, fifteen three year olds can become a boisterous group. Email or mail the party invitations or deliver them in person outside of school. You will need to get invitations well in advance and thank you cards for after the party.
You might want to choose a party theme but don’t feel that everything has to revolve around princesses or cars to make successful event. A simple character cake or fun napkins can be enough. Decorations don’t need to match the plates and can be handmade.
Also interesting is decorating with colorful, sustainable holiday lights.

Before and during the party, you should ask someone to help organize, get refreshments, and clean up. You will need to buy or make: food and beverages, cake or cupcakes, decorations, and party favors. You should check the battery in your camera before the event and make sure it is ready to take pictures. If you think you’ll be too busy during the event, ask someone else to walk around and photograph the event.

A party lasting for two hours should be the perfect length of time for young kids 3-5 years. If they’re older, the party could be scheduled a bit longer and if you have a really young child, plan for an hour and a half. The activities will be up to you unless you hire an entertainer or musician. Remember that organizing the activities yourself can be rewarding. You’ll also be happy about the money you’re saving.

Try to have a few organized activities like the old standard pin the tail on the donkey or simple face painting or duck duck goose. Have something for the children to do from the moment the first guest arrives at the birthday party until the last guest leaves. Consider having a few toys out to play with and leave the rest put away for less chaos and potential conflicts over who plays with what.

After about half an hour to 45 minutes, serve the snacks and allow the kids to settle down and eat a bit followed by some delicious cake or cupcakes. You'll probably have time for another short activity before the end of the party but don't worry if the kids seems relaxed and the parents begin to gather up to leave.
