Historic Richmond Town

Short Description:

This living history museum offers great (and inexpensive!) birthday parties for kids 4 and up.

Long Description:

Historic Richmond Town is New York's own living history village and museum, focusing on local history from the Colonial era to the present in an area that has been settled since the seventeenth century. The village consists of 15 buildings on 25 acres of the organization's 100-acre site.

Birthday parties are for kids ages 4 and up, and are held in the village or, during the month of October, on the farm. At the two-hour parties, several costumed interpreters introduce the guests to the village's private and public landmarks. This is followed by some old fashioned games, a craft activity, and a museum visit.

Meals are held in the old courthouse; Historic Richmond Town provides decorations, paper goods, and gift bags for the guests. Parties are held on late afternoons during weekdays and at various times on weekends.

Prices start at $200 for about 20 guests; up to about 50 guests can be accommodated. Please book about three weeks in advance.
